About Bright Door Studios
About us
Bright Door Studios is a creative space in Newmains, North Lanarkshire, founded by Emma Ferla of Referlished, her husband Lucca, and business partner Toots. Built on the belief that creativity should be part of everyday life, Bright Door is about creating a space where people can make, experiment, connect and feel welcome.
Our first-floor studio brings local artists, makers and the community together under one roof. with space to create, learn, exhibit, sell, collaborate and try something completely new.
Emma brings a background in jewellery, costume and sustainable eco-art practice, with a particular love for turning the overlooked and discarded into something new.
Lucca brings a calm, person-centred approach shaped by lived experience, with a focus on wellbeing, connection and creating spaces where people can feel comfortable being themselves.
And then there’s Toots! A multidisciplinary artist and creative force behind Spilled Ink, Toots brings her own colourful style, experience of working creatively with communities and a willingness to get stuck into pretty much anything. From workshops and ideas to painting approximately a million doors during the renovation, she has been part of shaping Bright Door into what it is becoming.
Together, we bring different skills, experiences and perspectives, but share the same belief: creativity is for everyone.
From workshops and exhibitions to handmade goods, artist studios and opportunities to collaborate, Bright Door Studios is about expression, connection and opening the door for more people to be part of something creative.

At Bright Door Studios, we are proud to have a team of experienced and passionate tutors who are dedicated to helping our you grow as artists and makers. Our tutors have a wide range of specialties, from printing to silversmithing to Street art

Our facilities will include multiple studios, a gallery space, workshop space and a shop. We are currently knee deep in renovating this space into the studios and improving our facilities to ensure that you have access to the best possible resources.
